The short version

Sam Foundry is the open field guide to governed agentic AI. It teaches how a Chief of Staff system can think, act, remember, recover, and improve while authority, evidence, privacy, cost, and human judgment remain explicit.

It combines a public reference architecture, field guide, operating journal, and website. The implementation repository remains private. Community participation is inactive or planned; no public repository access or public runtime is implied.

What makes it different

The project has two intellectual centers. The Anatomy of Autonomy explains the full system through the syn-ai-phys, including syn-ai-soma, syn-ai-proprioception, syn-ai-homeostasis, syn-ai-metabolism, and syn-ai-immune-system. Model Council is the named challenge mechanism within syn-ai-cortex.

Both centers insist on dated evidence. Documentation is not implementation, model agreement is not proof, and a scheduled prompt is not autonomy.

What the foundation includes

The foundation includes a static-first Next.js site, repository-managed MDX, validated metadata, seed content, search documents, public registries, house promotion slots, inactive affiliate and sponsor states, and a truthful unavailable Vitals record.

What it does not include

It does not publish Steve's private Sam, memory, credentials, authority, private prompts, client information, or operating telemetry. It does not deploy a production agent, activate monetization, or claim a live community and content flywheel.

The foundation is a credible place to learn and build next, not a completed version of the vision.
